Humility

What is humility? 
Humility is defined as a modest and low view of one's own importance. I have always had a misconception about humility and pride. I was always under the impression that  pride just dealt with being BOASTFUL. I always thought that throwing your accomplishments and possessions in people's face was being prideful. Little did I know that was wrong. 

How often do you take credit for God's grace??

" I woke up this morning so I can go to work  and work hard so that I can get a pay check and pay my bills. And buy all the things I need and want."

BUT..... 

In actuality God woke you up this morning. Allowed you to walk to the bathroom, have clothes to wear, food to eat for breakfast. Gas in the car, a working car at that. A safe drive to work. But how would you  even have a job much less the opportunity to get a paycheck, without GOD. 

Too many times we take credit for the things we have and the things we have accomplished because we believe that it is by our own doings that we achieve these things. When indeed all the credit is due to GOD. Not 5% or 25% or 95% but 100%. It's all due to God. 

I have a JOB...I have a CAR...I have a HOUSE

No!!!! God has blessed you with a job....God has "blessed you with a car...God has blessed you with a House!!!

When we fail to acknowledge God for these things that we take for granted then we are indeed not being Humble...we are actually being prideful. We are not being modest. 

I have been guilty of this act. It took these past few days for me to realize that nothing that I have accomplished this year is by my own doing. I owe all the credit, all the praise, all the acknowledgement to GOD. I took pleasure in saying what was mine instead I should have been saying because of God's grace I have gained these things. 
I had to go through a humbling experience in order to realize that it can all be taken away from me and I would have no control over it, just like I had no control over gaining it. 

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. 
James 4:10

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time 
1 Peter5:6

"He has brought down rulers from their thrones, And has exalted those who were humble. 
Luke 1:52

and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

I have started so many post but I cannot seem to find the right one to be the first for 2018.  2017 was an extremely great year so I know wholeheartedly that 2018 would be magnificent...majestic!!! It will be the year of breakthroughs and opened doors.  Weakness....Frailness....Brokenness will not occur. I feel pumped and amped up about what this year has in store for me. I literally feel it in my heart, in my veins... just bubbling over. Excited or even Fired Up would be an understatement of how I feel. I hope that whatever each and everyone of you hope for and your heart desires...manifest. Don't be deterred when obstacles and setbacks pop up. I always believe, a minor setback is the slingshot to a  major come up. Doors will be closed and walls will be build, but always step back, take a breath and analyze the situation.
